The Pastoral Center and Taylor Street are home to the offices which guide and support the many ministries and services of the Archdiocese of Washington, under the leadership of Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl. The Archdiocese serves Washington, D.C. and five Maryland counties.

From The Beltway
Take New Hampshire Avenue (Rt. 650) South (Takoma Park). Go about four (4) miles to the D.C. line and turn left onto Eastern Avenue (there is a traffic light; a turn lane and a McDonald’s on the left-hand corner). Go about 1.5 miles. Turn left into the Pastoral Center parking lot, where Eastern Avenue dead-ends.

From Upper Northwest
Take Military Road-Missouri Avenue east towards North Capitol Street. After you cross North Capitol Street, Missouri Avenue will become Riggs Road. After a couple of blocks, you will go under a railroad bridge. Turn right onto South Dakota Avenue (there is a turn lane). At the second traffic light, just past an elementary school, turn left onto Galloway Street. Go about one-half (1/2) mile. Galloway ends at Eastern Avenue. Continue into the Pastoral Center parking lot.

From Southeast DC
Take I-295 to Rt. 50 West (Tuxedo). Follow Rte. 50 to the junction with New York Avenue. Follow New York Avenue to a right exit onto South Dakota Avenue. Go 2.6 miles to 13th St., NE/Sargent Road. Turn right onto Sargent Road and go one-half (1/2) mile to Eastern Avenue. You will see two signs to the right, welcoming you to Maryland and for the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center. The Pastoral Center entrance and parking lot are at the end of the block.

From Downtown DC*
Take Rhode Island Avenue to 13th Street, NE. Turn left onto 13th Street NE; the street name eventually will change to Sargent Road. Cross Michigan Avenue and then South Dakota Avenue (these are larger intersections, with traffic lights). Turn right on Eastern Avenue, which is the 2nd traffic light after South Dakota Avenue. You will see two signs on this corner, welcoming you to Maryland and for the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center. The Pastoral Center entrance and parking lot are at the end of the block.

*Or, take North Capitol Street north; go east (right) on Michigan Avenue towards the National Shrine/Catholic University. Pass the Shrine and the campus. Cross a small bridge over the Metro tracks. Turn left at the 3rd light after crossing this bridge; this is 13th Street, NE. Follow the directions above to Eastern Avenue.
