Pope Benedict XVI Visits Washington

Transportation

Parking is not available at Nationals Park. The best ways to get to the Mass are by public transportation (Metro) or chartered bus to RFK Stadium where free shuttles to Nationals Park will be available.

Metro: Get Your "Mass Pass"!
Metro will open at 5:00 a.m. The Navy Yard Metro stop (Green Line) is approximately one block from the entrance to Nationals Park.

A commemorative one-day “Mass Pass,” which features the Mass logo and allows unlimited rides on Metro all day on April 17, is available in advance from Metro. While online sales are closed, you may get a "Mass Pass" at Metro sales offices until April 16. A regular Metro fare card also may be used on the day of the Mass. For details about taking Metro to the Papal Mass, visit www.wmata.com/papalvisit.

Bus
All buses will be directed to RFK Stadium, 2400 East Capitol Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003. Free shuttles will take Mass ticket holders from RFK directly to Nationals Park starting at 5:00 a.m. and will return them to RFK after the Mass.

If you are with a bus company transporting a ticketed group to the Mass, please know that bus parking is by permit only. Charter bus companies must obtain a trip permit to enter DC. Also, all buses must obtain a parking pass for RFK Stadium by registering online.

Automobile
Limited parking will be available at RFK Stadium, 2400 East Capitol Street, SE, Washington, DC and the parking lot in downtown DC on 9th Street, between H and K Streets, NW. Parking permits must be obtained from Click & Park at www.dcpapalvisit.clickandpark.com and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Free shuttles will be provided from both parking lots to Nationals Park beginning at 5:00 a.m.

Parking for Attendees with Special Needs
There is no drop-off lane for persons who have disabilities at Nationals Park stadium.

Special accommodations have been made for persons who have disabilities to attend the liturgy. Please indicate special needs when purchasing your parking permit, and park only at RFK Stadium. You must obtain a parking pass and should request an "ADA car-disabled" or "ADA car-wheelchair accessible" permit. Wheelchair-accessible shuttles will transport attendees to the designated entrance at Nationals Park for wheelchair users (on South Capitol Street).

For all special needs concerns and to request wheelchair or sign language accessible seating, please contact Peg Kolm in the Archdiocese’s Office for Ministry with Persons with Disabilities, 301-853-4560.
