Employee 403(b) Changes

The Archdiocese of Washington offers employees working a minimum of twenty hours per week the opportunity to participate in a 403(b) tax-deferred retirement savings plan.

The Internal Revenue Service has imposed new regulations that affect the way 403(b) plans are administered, which is requiring changes in how the Archdiocese of Washington offers its 403(b) benefit. We believe these changes will benefit our employees and we will continue to do our best to ensure that each of our employees is provided with quality products, choices, service and as much information as possible to make informed decisions to save towards their retirement.

The Archdiocese of Washington cannot give individual tax advice and you should consult with your own tax or investment advisor as to your own specific situation. In accordance with IRS Circular 230 this information is not intended to be and cannot be used to avoid tax penalties. The Archdiocese of Washington makes no guarantees that any investment will achieve its stated objective. Any investment involves risk and you may lose money. Please consult with a trusted financial advisor and read the prospectus before investing.

Below, please find links to the materials that were sent out to each archdiocesan employee. These are PDF files, and can be opened with the free Adobe Acrobat reader.

If you are an employee of the Archdiocese of Washington who is eligible to participate in the 403(b) plan, and have questions after reading the information above, please email or call 301-853-4556.
