The Archdiocesan Legislative Network
Our faith is social. Unless we bring our values and our voices to the public square, we are hiding our light under a basket. To the best of our ability, we must understand the issues facing our society and look at these issues in the light of the Gospel and Catholic Social Teaching.

The Archdiocesan Legislative Network advocates for pro-life and social justice issues at the local, state, and federal levels.Federal and state issues are frequently identified by the USCCB, along with the Catholic position. We have a variety of ways to advocate, including Federal Lobby Day in February, Lobby Night in March, periodic action alerts, Justice and Advocacy Councils, Maryland Catholic Conference and DC Catholic Conference.

To learn more about the local Justice and Advocacy Councils in our Maryland counties and ways to get involved, contact Tony Bosnick.

Action Alerts
Speak out on current local, state and federal legislation and make a difference through our action alerts. Receive emails on important legislation under consideration.

Maryland Catholic Conference
The Archdiocese of Washington and the other dioceses in Maryland are members of the Maryland Catholic Conference, which advocates for public policies that promote the dignity of the human person and social justice.

You can help bring Gospel values to the public square by signing up for the Maryland Catholic Advocacy Network. Simply choose the issues you want to get information on - education, family life, respect for life, or social concerns - and receive e-mail alerts on legislation under consideration by state and federal lawmakers. The alerts will include easy-to-use e-mail messages you can send to your elected officials.

District of Columbia Catholic Conference (DCCC)
Established by the Archdiocese of Washington, DCCC serves as a forum that communicates and promotes positions that are shaped by Catholic moral and religious beliefs on public issues in the District of Columbia. DCCC provides briefings to the Legislative Network on bills before local and federal policy makers that either positively or adversely affects human life and dignity.
