Developing Parish Leaders in Social Ministry
Based on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, the Leadership Institute provides skills to current and emerging parish leaders on how to lead projects and activities. Participants will be better able to encourage people of faith to work effectively for the fullness of human dignity and life for all. Drawing from the rich resource of educators and activists in the region and from models of successful parish practices, the nine-session Core Program will provide participants the tools to:
- Recruit and lead other parishioners
- Articulate a vision of social ministry and develop successful projects
- Engage participants in energizing and productive meetings
- Identify social issues and actions in local and global communities
- Benefit from a network of other social action leaders
- Recognize their personal leadership style and appreciate other styles
- Engage in leadership that builds collaboration and partnerships
- Deepen in spirituality as the basis for leadership in social ministry
